National Night Out August 2009
Join us for our 2nd .brAnnual Roseville's National Night Out celebration on:

Tuesday, August 4th, 2009 from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM.

This is part of a nationwide celebration of Neighborhood Watch. This special evening reminds people of the importance of working together to fight crime.

All neighbors in Roseville and nationwide are encouraged to turn their porch lights on, lock their doors and come outside that evening to spend time with neighbors. Knowing your neighbors is THE BEST crime prevention tool. The Roseville Police Department promotes this evening by encouraging for a visit from the Police Department along with Fire, Electric, Neighborhood Services and Environmental Utilities personnel.

BLOCK CAPTAIN MEETINGS
A group of Block Captains met on Feb. 28 to discuss roles for each captain and determine what areas will need a NW sign. We learned that a sign cannot be placed on every corner or every location we have a NW Captain. Many block captains have held their meetings and have had signs installed in their areas. It is wonderful to have such great participation!

Thank You Diamond Creek Partners for installing signs at both bridges entering the neighborhoods.

BLOCK CAPTAIN ROLE:
Each Block Captain is encouraged to rally their neighbors together for a closer NW meeting with just their area so they can get acquainted with those neighbors and also to help educate those who did not attend the meeting how to be a NW participant.

• Determine # of signs needed
• Collect $2 per family for signs (or more if needed)
• Contact Noreen Sorg at (916) 774-5051 to schedule sign installation

We need to keep our neighborhood and our children safe. The quality of our neighborhoods and city begin with you.
